CooL Compressions CPR offers certificates from the three most accepted organizations. The American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC) and the American Safety & Health (ASHI) First Aid Certification classes. These courses are for non-healthcare providers whose organizations or professions require First Aid Certification, or for those that want to prepare themselves to provide help in an emergency.
AHA Heartsaver® First Aid Certification Classes
This course is primarily targeted for Healthcare Providers.
Heartsaver® First Aid is a course that is video-based and led by a highly skilled instructor that exposes you to emergency scenarios where you will learn how to react to and manage the scene during the initial moments before emergency personnel arrive. This course is hands-on and the instructor will assist you with your skills practice. It is based on the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
Subjects discussed in the video include:
- Open wounds, dressing and bandaging
- Broken or sprained limbs and how to stabilize them until help arrives
- Use of an epinephrine pen if an allergic reaction occurs due to allergies or stings
- How to recognize a choking victim and how to assist with a positive outcome
- What to do if someone is having a stroke, seizure, or is in cardiac arrest.
This course is typically for non-healthcare providers or those with limited or no medical training. If you are unsure if this is the First Aid Certification Class your organization requires, contact your compliance officer or give us a call at 720-609-2972.

ASHI Basic First Aid Certification Classes
ASHI Basic First Aid course is a video-based class with a highly skilled instructor to help you acquire the skills you need to assist in an emergency situation. Through real life scenarios recreated in the video you will learn the skills you need to perform Basic First Aid until emergency professionals arrive on the scene. This First Aid Certification class conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for First Aid.
The Basic First Aid video covers: This course is primarily for those that are not required to have American Heart Association Certification. Intended for those that are non Health care workers.
- Prepares you to help with primary assessment
- Open wounds, dressing and bandaging controling bleeding
- Broken or sprained limbs and how to stabilize them until help arrives
- Use of an epinephrine pen if an allergic reaction occurs due to allergies or stings
- How to recognize a choking victim and assist with a positive outcome
- What to do if someone is having a stroke, seizure, or is in cardiac arrest
- Care of Someone with an Altered mental state
This course is typically for non-healthcare providers or those with very limited medical training. Some industries that may require this First Aid Certification class are:
- Corporate or professional industries
- Lifeguards
- Law enforcement candidates
- Some government agencies
- Foster care
- Day care providers not required to be AHA Heartsaver® First Aid certified
- Anyone that wants to know Basic First Aid
Skill testing is done throughout the class with real-time, hands-on practice. Written assessment may be required for certification.
